Most people who tell us they 'aren't good at praying' are actually describing something else: they are tired, or grieving, or unsure that God is listening. Prayer is not a performance, and it was never meant to be graded.
Start with honesty. Tell God the true thing first — the fear, the anger, the confusion. The Psalms are full of people who did exactly that, and Scripture kept their words on record without editing them into something more polite.
Then borrow words. Read a psalm out loud and let it pray for you. Psalm 23, Psalm 42, and Psalm 121 are good places to begin. Praying Scripture is not cheating; it is learning the language of faith.
